Team Sport

We celebrate the spirit of teamwork, cooperation, and healthy competition that comes with participating in team sports.

We believe that sports play a vital role in a child's physical, mental, and social development, and are an important part of our school's commitment to fostering well-rounded, resilient, and confident students.

Summer Sports

At Rotokauri School, we offer a range of summer sports that are played during Terms One and Four, giving students the opportunity to stay active, build teamwork skills, and have fun while representing their school.

Touch

Touch games are played at Swarbrick Park on Mondays for Y7-8 and Thursdays for Y1-6.

Game times are between 3:45 and 5:15pm.

Waterpolo

Years 7-8 Waterpolo games are played on Sundays at Waterworld between 2pm and 6pm.

Winter Team Sports

During Terms Two and Three, Rotokauri School offers Netball and Hockey as winter sports to provide students with the chance to stay active, develop teamwork, and enjoy friendly competition. Our school values participation and encourages students of all abilities to get involved. With support from coaches, teachers, and whānau, our tamariki learn important life skills such as resilience, fair play, and commitment while proudly representing Rotokauri School.

Netball

Games played after school at Minogue Park on Tuesdays for Years 3-4, Wednesdays for Years 5-6 and Thursday for Years 1-2.  Years 7 and 8 play on Saturday mornings. Practices are often during lunchtimes or after school dependent on coach availability.

Hockey

Year 1-6 games played on Saturday mornings at Gallagher Hockey Centre and Year 7-8 games played on Friday nights at either one of the local Waikato hockey turfs.  Practices are often during lunchtimes or after school dependent on coach availability.

Sport is for everyone.

We want children to play, have fun and learn new skills Youth sport is abut the journey, not the destination
